End of April and a bit of birding around the Forest of Dean and Cotswold Water Park. Species included redstart, sedge, wood and willow warbler, tree pipit, a distant goshawk and a number of hobby hunting over the water park.
Cooler temperatures but a decent bit of sunshine was enough to allow for a number of reptiles to be spotted this weekend. Saturday provided 4 common lizards, 3 slow worms and a couple of grass snakes around Stroud, whilst today delivered an impressive total of 9 adders.
Last month's trip to Gloucestershire has now turned into a longer stay, so it seems the Northumberland explorations will be on hold for a while.
Yesterday provided a lifer species for me - a water shrew - so that was pretty nice to see.
In other relocation news, swallow sightings are on the increase!
